Generally a trend has been set that whenever a car is launched, company tries to grasp that particular segment of the car, with the grand launching, numerous offers & other lucrative deals. But on the contrary, Nissan choose the calmer way. Nissan cars were imported from some other country & were launched in a moderate fashion in India. But after the launch of Micra, the presence of Nissan was felt in the car market. But still the market share of this company in India is not that big, as compared to its competitors, as apart from Micra, no other car carrying the Nissan emblem has been launched in voluminous amounts or in other words we can say that no other car from the Nissan Family has got such an overwhelming response, as like Nissan Micra.
Nissan has tried its luck in all the segments, by launching cars like Micra, Xtrail & 370Z. The only segment left to be touched is the Sedan & Premium Sedan segment, which has rulers like Toyota Corolla & Civic from Honda, in it. With the mindset that sedan segment cars are quite popular in the city dwellers & also to keep the interest of customers in the company alive, company has launched Nissan Sunny. With its launch, the company is expecting some good business. Although Nissan Sunny Car is new for the Indian customers but at the international level, this car carries a great rapport. The kind of platform on which the car has been assembled, is already gracing the Indian car market. Focus on the car markets of Thailand & China, apart from India, is the reason behind its realistic architectural aesthetics.
The front & the side portion of the Sunny Car has Nissan’s patent style, while at the back, it appears that the ideas have been stolen from Nissan’s another model, Teana. As stated above the ‘V’ platform has been used in it, which was launched in India via Micra. The advantage of V platform is that it reduces the overall weight by reducing the size of the components, without comprising with the performance & efficiency. If it seems to you that apart from the platform, Nissan might have taken some other features or technology from the Micra, then this notion is baseless. Its highly raised posture standing on 14 inch tyres looks very clumsy & seems very incompatible.
The long bug eyed almond shape headlamps are eye catchers. In the middle of the headlights, is the bonnet having trapezoidal shape with the Nissan emblem in the middle. The front lower spoiler & the bonnet are merged into the bumper, which itself merges into the wheel arches. From the outer designed body, it is evident that the interior space is capacious. Width of the A pillar has been reduced to give better visibility to the driver. When we drove out the car we found that, not every car is perfect. This car also has some cons & the biggest one is that when we tried to take the needle of speedometer higher by pushing the pedal, then we got to know its realty as driving it at higher speeds will probably not be a joy ride.
