Early in the year 1998 when the Mitsubishi Lancer was released by the Hindustan Motors the car made quite a buzz in the markets. The style and the comfort was the striking feature of Mitsubishi Cedia car and were positioned in the “C” segment of cars. The latest release of the car has gone through plenty of upgrades over the years and has some of the high premium comfort and safety features. The elegant and classy design comes with wide halogen headlamps, curves that strike your eyes, and the new black spilt front grille which adds glamour to the car. The car has the 6 spoke alloy wheels that definitely add to the styling bestowed on the car. The cabin has been kept calm and cosy with the installation of excellent quality materials.
Cedia has the powerful 2-ltr 4-cylinder petrol engine generating a power of 115 PS @ 5250 rpm and producing a torque of 175 Nm @ 4250 rpm. The car is a great on almost all roads and promises greater stability even at high speeds. The multi-point fuel injection system powers the engine and further enhances the efficiency and the performance of the car. This beauty comes with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox promising to deliver a top speed of 180 km/h.
It has one of the trendiest instrument clusters in the class it has been offered in. The dash and the leather finish centre console give it an elegant look too. Cedia has the upholstery made out of Italian leather which is among the finest one would find in the cars today. It has a trendy four spoke steering wheel, gear knobs, door pads and the assist grips made up of leather. The rear seats get an arm rest in the centre and have a cup holder in it. The entire cockpit has been made out of wood and titanium finish which makes it look elegant indeed.
The suspension system of the car has been fine-tuned from its earlier release and has been packed with excellent handling ability to suit almost every road one may drive it through. Checking out the safety features we would certainly notice that the car has been given special attention. The standard fittings include the ABS, dual front air bags, Electronic Brake Force Distribution system, collapsible steering, and child safety lock features.
Presently the car is offered in two variants, namely the Elegance and Sport. The price of the standard variant has been kept at around Rs.10 lacs which is available in 5 different colour models. The colour options are Black Forest, French Claret, Ashton Grey, Nordic Blue, and County Beige. The other variant i.e. Sport is also available at the same price tag and comes in 4 different colour options i.e. Black Pearl, Manchester Red, Aussie Yellow and Chicago white. Overall the car performs pretty decently in all quarters especially the comfort and luxury features with the excellent driving features.
