Mitsubishi was known to flourish in 1970. Currently, it is the seventh largest and most successful car manufacturing company in the world. However, the tradition of car manufacturing has started for as early as 1917 for Mitsubishi Motors. It was back then what was considered as Japan’s first-series production automobile. And after that whopping success, it has continuously developed innovations and pioneered the first ever diesel engine and large-sized bus in Japan.
But the Second World War has brought tremendous problems for Mitsubishi Motors. The industry was forced to topple down and be divided into smaller parts. But Mitsubishi Motors eventually survived this tumultuous experience by growing back after the war and continued providing vehicles which became very in demand by then. After the Second World War, the need for vehicles heightened up and it was the best time for car manufacturing companies to market their cars to different social classes needing automobiles. Mitsubishi took advantage of this opportunity. Mitsubishi, then, started producing numerous variants of cars which lead it to make the much needed commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and scooters among others.
For half a century, Mitsubishi is considered a leader in the world of Motorsports. Since the 60’s, Mitsubishi has ventured in many race tracks from off road racing to formula one. It has gained leadership in endurance rallies in the 70’s, the Dakar Rally in the 80’s and even held champion cars all throughout the World Rally Championships during the 90’s. Mitsubishi Motorsports racing subsidiary is Ralliart, although the company has officially ended its competing career in 2010. But it cannot be the world of motorsports without Mitsubishi. Sports racing have always carried the Mitsubishi brand.
And because of growing back into the realm of car manufacturing, Mitsubishi eventually climbed its way on top again by presenting a victorious tradition of Motorsports – the prime reason that Mitsubishi is internationally known for. Eventually, Mitsubishi once again was concentrated to a single car manufacturing industry called Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.
When Mitsubishi Motors got back to its knees after the challenging times brought by the Second World War, it again jumpstarted the production of cars. It introduced cars for different car segments. The range of cars that Mitsubishi brought in the market of India includes Lancer, Montero, Outlander, Pajero, and Cedia Sports among others. And by these cars which Mitsubishi brought after the war, it also retained its tradition of Motorsports. Motorsports is something that could not be taken away from the history of Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi was often correlated with race cars. All over the world, Mitsubishi is a success in sports racing. This proves that not only does Mitsubishi produce cars with excellent exteriors; it also produces cars which run really fast and very reliable.
The history of Mitsubishi is as popular as its victories in the racing arena. And the company also races to be on top. As much as it is one of the largest, it is also the fastest growing car company with its fast-running, award-winning cars.
