Hyundai has finally launched its one of the most awaited & cheapest car, Hyundai Eon. The latest entrant in the small car segment is a Hatchback car. Although the car has been launched against many hatch back cars, but its main rivalry will be with the product of country’s largest car maker, Maruti Alto.
At present the car is available only in petrol variant but due to ongoing rise in the fuel price & expensive diesel technology, if LPG version is spotted in the nearby show room, then it should not be taken as a surprising element, because that variant is in the testing phase. With the launch of Eon LPG version, which is slated to occur in the mid of 2012, commuters will be having choice to switch between petrol & LPG. With the LPG option, not only the fuel efficiency will be higher, but the maintenance cost will also be lower.
In Hyundai Eon Car the noticeable features, garnering the attention of the people, are its sophisticated & husky looks, courtesy to its hexagonally designed bonnet, bug eye shaped head lamps & body lines, built in keeping the movement & other properties of air, in mind. If the company would have not disclosed the price, then people would have imagined this car out of their reach, as its looks make it very expensive to own. The Engineers & Designers of this South Korean car company, which at present is India’s 2nd largest automobile maker & gained a name in the automobile sector of India by 2 of its all time adorable models i.e. Hyundai Santro & Hyundai i10, has put tons of efforts in this car. The final outcome in the form of Hyundai Eon is the result of good number of years spent by the company on doing research & studying the need of Indian people.
It can be said that Eon Car has got its look from i10, features form Santro & an inspiration from Fluidic design platform, which is currently used in Hyundai Fluidic Verna. With the launch of this vehicle, Hyundai has not only created a pothole for Maruti Alto but also has kept a boulder in its way to progress. Though the motive & concept, behind the development of this car is same as that of Maruti Alto but it is the designing, styling, engine efficiency & performance that has taken this car to a higher level than Alto. Its specifications like mileage of 21.1 km/l, engine of 814cc & power of 56bhp@5500rpm are more than enough to compete with any other car of the same segment & under the same price range. Hyundai has given 6 options of Eon Car to people, to choose from & as per the rule of nature, high positions in hierarchy signifies more power, similarly the higher variants of Eon have some additional features.
In the end it can be concluded that though alto has some advantages on its side like, familiarity & trustworthiness within the Indian automobile market, but the performance, looks & styling are synonymous with Eon & hence Alto can not deter Eon’s market share.
