One of the most powerful launches by Tata in the hatchback segment is the Tata Indica eV2. It has an engine which is capable of delivering a much higher torque for providing a smooth and a more responsive drive. Tata Indica eV2 is the car which has been built to suit the Indian roads. The sturdy finish and the powerful built is perfect for any place in our country. It’s a compact car but comes with a simple yet stylish finishing to the exteriors. However the Interiors might seem to be much simpler as compared to some other offerings in the same class. On the other hand the good mileage and a great price make it a much economical options beating most of the competitors out. Moreover with time the car has gone through few tweaks and additions to improve the styling and the interiors have got a face lift too. The car is much spacious and great for a family of 5-6 people.
The engine of the car is powerful which adds on weight to the car and makes it a very strong one. The latest variants are the Tata Indica eV2 Turbomax DLE and the Tata Indica eV2 Turbomax DLS. These new versions of the car are much better in terms of looks, performance, efficiency, and a few more additions compared to the predecessors. The engine is powered by 71 Ps at 4500 rpm which generates a torque of 135 Nm at 3500 rpm by 1405cc, 475 IDI Turbo Intercool Diesel engine. The petrol variant comes with a 1396cc, 4 Inline-cylinder producing max power of 53.5 Ps at 5500 rpm and a torque of 85 Nm at 2500 rpm. The variants offered under both the petrol and the diesel variants are powered by a 5-speed manual transmission.
The car packs in great fuel efficiency delivering up to 17.2 kmpl on the highways and a decent 13.6kmpl inside the city. The company estimates that this new car can deliver up to 19kmpl on the highways and about 14.5kmpl in the city riding conditions. Tata Indica eV2 has the 13 inch wheels whereas the Turbomax gets a 14 inch wheel.
Other inclusions to the car are the 4 spoke steering wheel, body coloured bumpers, mobile charger, new luxurious floor consoles, etc. Currently the Indica eV2 segment comes with the following model options:

The exterior dimension stretches the car to 3675mm in terms of length and about 1665mm in terms of width. The height of the car makes it taller too which is 1485mm with the wheelbase of 2400mm. Speaking about the interiors of the car, it is surely one of the most spacious of them all in the segment it comes in. Compared to the previous releases it is far more comfortable and attractive inside. It has been installed with several new functionalities and gets the new four spoke power steering. The car comes with the Dual Circuit, Hydraulic Brakes (diagonal split) with the Tandem Master Cylinder brakes. The front wheels have the ventilated disc brakes whereas the rear wheels are powered by the drum brakes. The new safety feature which has been packed inside the car makes it a way better car for a secured travel. The new highlights are Anti-Submarine Seats, Safety Locks, Collapsible Steering, Side intrusion bean for all the doors, Head lamp leveller, etc.
Overall the car is decent performer on the Indian Roads; especially the diesel one beats any other car in the segment. However the car could have been a much better offering if the interiors had seen a much better facelift. Hence, a powerful performer which is spacious as well as sturdy.
