Renault had a partnership with the Indian car manufacturer, which is also good at building SUV’s, Mahindra & Mahindra, but due to some un-avoidable circumstances, both of them broke up. With the launch of Fluence, it entered into the sedan segment, but it was strategically important for Renault to enter in the SUV segment, keeping in mind, the terrain & prevailing likeliness for bulky & sporty look car.
Realizing all these factors, Renault Koleos was launched & finally entered into the SUV segment. Like any other SUV, it is also very muscular, strongly built & offers a very comfortable sitting space. But the factors which keep it apart from the other cars (to be more precise we must say SUV) are its look & styling. Renault has committed to launch 2 more cars, after its launch. The toughness of Koleos offers open challenge to rough terrain of any level. Though the exteriors are very husky & of bullying nature, the interiors are equally cool & elegant. Thanks to the ongoing hike in the petrol prices, the Petrol car market has seen some percent of downfall & this is the reason why Renault Koleos was launched only in diesel variant. The role, to power this bulky vehicle has been offered to 2.0 liter diesel engine, which delivers power of 150bhp. In it all the active wheels get equal amount of torque, simultaneously, making it a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
The cockpit, from where this machine is controlled, has all the buttons & equipments at a hands reach. The designing & colors are chosen to give comfy feeling. Apart from other features, our attention was grabbed by Bose Music system, which is very much high in terms of quality. While moving at higher speeds or on rough terrain, the car parts do not create any kind of fuss or kind of scary noise. The high, comfortable cushioned seats combined with big wind shield, gives a commanding view of the road. The boot size is 450-lt, making it possible for a family to carry any thing for a weekend holiday or on adventure trip. Objects which are 1 meter wide can be carried very easily in the car, by folding the rear seats & split opening the tail gate.
Koleos has the capability to offer luxury of the sedan, power of SUV & space of an MUV. It is the joint operation of Engineers & Designers, who have blessed it with great styling & latest technology. The 3-layered grille, under the company emblem, makes it look husky. Inside it, the long curvaceous dashboard offers ample space, both for objects & legroom. In the list of safety features, the top positions are captured by features like Anti lock Braking System, Brake Assist, Airbags, etc.
Renault Koleos is available in 3 colors, Black, White Pearl & Ultra Silver. This is the first SUV segment car from the Company.
