There are various segments under which the cars are classified & amongst them the presence of MUV (Multiple Utility Vehicle) can not be deterred. With the growing needs of people, they desire a car which has a good carrying capacity & simultaneously used in multiple purposes, like going to office, taking whole family out for a picnic, visiting outskirts of the city either on long drive or on adventure trips. Looking at these needs, Mahindra & Mahindra, a Multinational company based in Mumbai, has done its bit by manufacturing Mahindra Bolero & if the company officials are believed, the car is as much important for the company as like Mahindra Scorpio.
Bolero was initially launched in India, in the year 2007 & has very aggressive looks with sharp edges & militarily features, making it favorite in the youth. In the present times, though this MUV lacks the attractiveness in front of the other stylish MUV’s & this is the reason why the people are not getting attracted to it, but those who have gambled on this MUV, by purchasing it, only know the worth of it. Till now, if highly placed sources are to be believed, then the company has not received any serious complaints from its users.
To provide it a strong base & to make it present in each & every segment of the society, fulfilling all kinds of needs, company has developed many variants of Bolero. Its high ground clearance of 200 mm, IFS coil springs in the front, rigid leaf springs, both acting as the suspensions & efficient engine delivering high pick up & effortless acceleration gives comfortable ride even on the rocky plains of rural India. Turbo Charged Direct Injection Fuel system has been used in its 2523 cc diesel engine, which generates power of 97bhp@3800rpm & torque of 255Nm@1800-2200rpm. The high value of torque as compared to the power is the reason why it can be driven very easily on roads with potholes. Anti roll bars, with the motto of giving firm grip of the road, have been used in it. In the front, disc brakes have been used while to assist the rear tyres in stopping, drum brakes have been used. It can accommodate 5 persons in its seating area & 60 liters of fuel in its fuel tank.
In the interiors, it has a modish dash which equips its power steering, audio system & instrument cluster. To give comfortable seating to all its commuters, it has specifically designed bucket seats. While moving in hot terrain, no matter how hot the outside temperature is, its interior environment will always remain cool because of its Air conditioner.
The grille of Mahindra Bolero, above its heavy & protective bumper, looks like a cage. Overall Bolero is quite good both, in & out the city, but some changes can be brought into its seating arrangement which could be beneficial in providing more legroom to the passengers on board.
