Description - For many the Grand Vitara would appear to be one off cars which they might not have liked to buy. However after a single test drive I was bowled over with the exceptional experience of the car. It’s been about 6 months now and has driven my car for about 3,000kms. Driving around the outskirts of Delhi and travelling across Noida and Greater Noida is much more comfortable when inside. The car has been giving a decent mileage of 9.3kmpl with a smooth handling behind the wheels.
To me it’s simply a cool car which backs superb feeling of control and seems to run on your commands with passion. The only drawback which I have experienced on a few occasions is the lack of power which is accentuated in 2nd gear or at the time when there is an accent. When we look for Vitara over the CRV the only thing which I would say would have to be compromised is the acceleration but not many of us would have problems with lesser power. The only reason for that would be the luxurious interiors inside Vitara which comes for about Rs.4 lakhs lesser than the CRV. So for a person like me Vitara has actually proved out to be a good buy as it comes at a lower price and virtually boosts with great comfort and riding ability. Thus rating the car on a scale of 5 after driving it for more than 6 months I would give it 3.5 points.
