In order to meet the demands of emerging markets of South Asia and South America, auto giant Ford recently revealed a new car under its new brand promise, “Go Further”. At its Barcelona conclave, the company unveiled a new car named ‘Ka Concept’ bearing quite a resemblance to that of Ford Figo.
The word “Concept is not at all accurate since the Ka is already production ready. Not only that, the Brazilian version of the Figo was used in the development rather than what was planned earlier with that of Fiat 500’s floor- pan. The thing that intrigued the most is the 5- door hatchback model which has been the popular mantra in countries such as Brazil, Indonesia and India for a long period of time. The company is hoping that the small car market should be growing by 35% by 2017.
The car features a trapezoidal front grille, crisp taut bodylines and swept back headlights that are so much in continuation with the theme that we all have seen on the new Fords all over Europe. In order to make it stand apart from the rest of the crowd, the company is relying on small technological doses and design, while sporting low price stickers.
