New Version of Tata Nano, Tata Nano Twist Expected to be Launched by January, 2014

More and more efforts are being put in by Tata Motors to increase sales of Nano, its compact hatchback in Indian automobile market. The company has already introduced the CNG model, Tata Nano eMax and the company is planning to introduce a new model called Tata Nano Twist. The new model will most likely include the highly-awaited power steering feature. The vehicle is expected to be launched by January 15, 2014. The power steering inclusion is expected to increase the price of the vehicle by at least INR 15,000.
Even though, the vehicle was introduced in the market as a people’s car but low sales did not bring much of a fortune to the automobile maker. As a result, the company is putting in all its efforts to revive its sales and it is also expected that, the automaker will target towards bringing in a diesel version of the vehicle. Experts are of the opinion that, the new version will perform well in Indian automobile market as power steering will bring in more manoeuvrability.
The present model of Tata Nano is available with 2-cylinder 624cc MPFI engine capable of producing power of 36bhp and 51Nm torque. The vehicle is capable of reaching maximum speeds of up to 105km/hr. The ground clearance of the vehicle is 180mm and the fuel tank has a capacity of 15l. The vehicle competes with the likes of Hyundai Eon and Maruti Suzuki Alto.
