Basically the car's design was taken from Morris Oxford model. Even though the car may not be that much stylish as compared to the new cars arriving in the Indian market, but still many people prefer it because of its sturdiness. The car is absolutely perfect for Indian roads and this is also one of the reasons why politicians still use this car. The car is manufactured in the town of Uttarpara, West Bengal.
The Ambassador car has a unique style of design where there are smooth swift lines running at the front end of the car. The car has hatchback facility which can be related to designs and elegance from the past. Ambassador comes with an independent suspension and ananti-roll bar with torsion bar springs. At the front hydraulic double action shock absorbers are present. In order to absorb the uneven bumps and potholes on the Indian roads semi-elliptical leaf springs along with the double action shock absorbers are present at the back of the car.
The price of the car starts from 4.5lakhs and ends around on 6lakhs. There are various colors available like Francoise White, Kilder Green, Symphony Gold, Sherry Red, Black, Ivory, Thurston Grey, Forest Green and Grotto Blue.
Although the car was introduced in India during the British rule but still it is considered to be among the best one for the rough Indian roads. ‘'The king of Indian Roads'' which is also another name for the Ambassador now comes with the new CNG models and there is a constant drive to keep this car in the market as long as possible.
